The 2026 professional learning program is now available for the remainder of 2026 at https://hassaa.org.au/haa-conference. As you will see, we are very close to meeting our commitment to conduct a HAA professional learning event every month during the year.
Upcoming HAA professional learning
Date: Friday 17 July (July school holidays – second week)
Time: 9.45am-3.30pm
Venue: St Peter’s College
Forum purpose: HaSS Association Australia is conducting the HaSS Teaching Forum in July 2026. The forum will provide ideas and resources through inter-active presentations and workshops for pre-service, early career and teaching out of field HaSS educators. The forum will cover curriculum, pedagogy and resource ideas across the HaSS subjects of history and geography from Years 3-10. The forum will conclude with a panel of HaSS teachers sharing their experiences and fielding questions from forum participants about the nature of quality HaSS education in schools. Attendees will be provided with a professional learning certificate aligned to the AITSL Standards.
Cost (approved by HAA treasurer but requiring PL committee approval):
$90 for non-HAA or GTASA members
$50 for HAA or GTASA members
$40 for pre-service educators who are not members of HAA or GTASA
$25 for pre-service educators who are members of HAA or GTASA
