Mission Statement

At HaSS Association Australia Incorporated, our mission is to create an informed, dynamic, innovative and collaborative professional community of Humanities and Social Sciences (HaSS) educators. HAA Inc. aims to be the united voice for HaSS education in the political landscape and is committed to advancing quality curriculum and teaching of the HaSS subjects, including history, geography, civics and citizenship, and economics and business. Together, we strive to promote knowledge and understanding of the world within which our students live and contribute to the betterment of society through the study and teaching of the HaSS learning area.

We strive to:

promote educational excellence in HaSS education by providing professional learning opportunities, resources, and support to educators
develop collaborative networks of teachers, scholars, and enthusiasts who share a passion for the humanities. Through conferences, workshops, and online platforms, we aim to provide opportunities for members to connect, exchange ideas and build lasting professional relationships
raise public awareness of the nature and significance of HaSS in education
advocate for HaSS education through policy forums and political processes to ensure that HaSS is an important and visible part of a balanced curriculum taught in our schools.
