HAA Council

Presently HaSS Association Australia Inc. is being managed by an Interim Council prior to the first Annual General Meeting in April 2025

In accordance with the requirements of the HAA Constitution, in April 2025 the first HAA Inc. AGM is to be held.  At the AGM the following leadership and Council positions will be filled:

  • A Council of nine (9) Directors, comprising the President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer and five (5) Directors not holding office.
  • The five (5) non office-bearing Directors are to comprise:
  • Two (2) pre-service educator members of HAA
  • Three financial members of HAA
  • Directors excluded from holding office are the pre-service educator members of HAA
Prior to the AGM in 2025, an Interim Council has been appointed to conduct the business of HAA under the HAA Constitution. The members of the HAA Interim Council that have been nominated are known as delegates to the Interim Council. They are: Malcolm McInerney, Deborah Green, Susan Jones, Madeleine King, Natalie Kirk, Stephanie Morbidelli, Emily Sheahan, Danielle Tanti, Georgia McDonald, Kirby O’Connor, Olivia Quin, Katherine Rideout, Martyn Mills-Bayne, Roxanne Simpson, Grace Emanuele and Philippa Marsh.
The Executive positions on the Interim Council are: Malcolm McInerney (Interim President), Deborah Green (Interim Vice-President and Susan Jones (Interim Secretary and Treasurer).
 

The Terms of Reference for the Interim Council are:

The Interim Council is to:

 

be an interim decision making body prior to the election of the HAA Council at the first HAA AGM

operate under the HAA Constitution, cognisant that they are exempt from Part 5 relating to the number, requirements, terms for Directors and election of Directors

 be aware that long term decisions made by the Interim Council on behalf of HAA members need to be seriously considered and be advised that such decisions are to be generally discouraged

disseminate information to the HASS education community about the aims of HAA and benefits of membership

plan and conduct professional learning until the official HAA Council is appointed

contribute to all efforts to promote and publicise HAA

 contribute to resource development and publication as determined by the Interim Council.
