General Meetings

Members’ General Meetings will be held a number of times during a HAA financial year, one of which will coincide with the Annual General Meeting.

The Members’ General Meeting will advise and assist the Council of Directors to:

  • develop policy recommendations
  • provide a channel of communication between the HAA Council and members to provide a positive image of HAA Inc in the professional community and to the general public
  • provide a source from which the HAA may seek and receive advice related to curriculum development and the profession, necessary to meet the needs of the HaSS education community
  • find opportunities that will enable it to obtain the relevant information to meet the requirements of its Objects.

The Members’ General Meeting will have as its only power the right to make recommendations to the Council.

The Council may call a General Meeting of the association at any time.

Upon a request in writing of not less than 5% of the total number of members of the association, the Council shall, within one month of the receipt of the request, convene a special general meeting for the purpose specified in the request.
